COLOUR

One-Colour Printing
This refers to using only one ink colour, ie. either black or some other standard or specially mixed colour. For this we would require your original to look just like the final outcome you desire, but it should generally be black. We will use coloured ink to give you the finished colour you want. Screen tints of the base colour can be used to give the effect of multiple colours.

Multi-Colour or “Spot Colour” Printing
This means that you are using more than one ink colour, ie. black plus one or more colours, or just two or more colours
without black. We utilize the generally accepted Pantone Matching System (PMS).

For this type of printing we generally require electronic separations for each colour that you want printed. Again, these files should be exactly what you want printed, with the exact clarity and detail you want.

Full Colour ("CMYK") or ("RGB")
Full colour in printed media is generally composed of either RGB (Red, Green, Blue) or CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow , Black) colour combinations. All of our printing devices at ABC employ the CMYK format and will artificially convert from RGB. Files should be converted to CMYK for all full colour work before submitting them to us for production.

We are currently upgrading our colour management to the G7 internationally accepted protocols. This will be an ongoing process.
